A message from Prof. Vladimir Katić, Ph.D.
Ee 2015 Chairman and

President of the Serbian Power Electronics Society

Power electronics is one of the most propulsive branches of electrical engineering and Novi Sad is an active and peaceful city, place where the only University campus in Serbia is located.

Symposium “Power Electronics”, widely known as Ee, is now in its forties – it is 42 years from its first edition in Belgrade in 1973. Still it is a young, full of new ideas, but enriched with experience and tradition, excellent meeting place for researchers, university professors, engineers, manufacturers, students and other experts in the field of Power Electronics and surrounding areas.

The 18th symposium papers are coming from 269 authors & coauthors of 20 countries: Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Japan, Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine, United Kingdom and USA. All papers have passed through reviewing process by the International Program Committee and technical adjustment by the Secretariat. From 102 submitted, 78 (76%) have been accepted, while 75 (73%) will be presented in international (71 papers) and national (4 papers) program.

As parallel events, IEEE PELS Region 8 Chapter Chairs Meeting, IEEE Joint Chapter of the PELS/IAS/IES meeting, XVIII National Conference “Energetska elektronika” (in Serbian language) and Serbian Power Electronics Society Assembly will be held, also.

Sadly, between two symposiums two of our great friends and distinguished members, Academician Prof. Dr. Petar Miljanić and Prof. Dr. Istvan Nagy have passed away. Their deaths present a great loss for the academic and scientific community, their colleagues and family.

Wide interest in power electronics and related topics (electric drives, electrical machines, microelectronics, measurement and control, simulation and modeling, power systems, power generation and others) and high quality of accepted papers are guarantee that the 18th International Symposium will be successful, also, and will contribute to further development of this propulsive field.

                                                        I wish you a successful Ee2015 Conference.

Prof. Vladimir Katić, Ph.D.

Ee 2015 Chairman

President of the Serbian Power Electronics Society
